I honestly think that strange looking area on her forehead is for sonar/echolocation like on a real bat's face. I have a possible explanation for the green color scheme as well. There is something kind of leafy about her headband and the bat symbol on it. In Costa Rica tent-making bats are common. A tent-making bat species basically modifies leaves to use as roost or shelters to protect them from predators. Batsy may be using the green color scheme as a form of camouflage?
